on most drum videos i see it doesn't look like they have a ride cymbals, i see it, but then they use it as a crash, so i assume it's just an 18 .. any ideas?

and also how would i, make my own hole in my from bass drum head? heating a folgers can? but how? or what else

you can cut around a can with an exacto knife, but you can also get these kits for putting holes in your bass head. i got one from aquarian that worked really well and was only a few bucks, plus it has a reinforcing ring that prevents tears and looks kind of cool.

you can indeed crash a ride - and ride a crash.
my ride sucks for crashing as well but its very very near bottom end (sabian b8)
