not sure if it's the right thread, but since it relates to gear, does anyone have any recomendations as to a good set of headphones? i'd like to experiment with keeping time listening to songs rather than a metronome alone. any good choices?

Vic Firth Isos, I heard were good. I might pick up a pair later on this week.

i was recommended that also and they are very awesomely perfect although they dont block out all of the sound comming from the drums but still the sound quality is very good for the 50 buck price tag

but be ready for it pretty tight aginst your head but after a while you get used to it

You know, a good thing to do if you're cheap is to stick a pair of clip-on headphones into a pair of earmuffs(for shooting guns or such) or wear them over some earbuds. Works like a charm for me.

Similarly to Comical Mischief, I put my $20 Vic isos over my ipod earphones, and listen to a click or music. Works fairly well. Great sound from the vic firth isos as well!

I have set of the Vic Headphones and they are great for playing to the click or using the mp3 play to play along to songs.

I would buy the studio Kans. IMO they are much better than the vics, way better quality overall.

I've heard good things about the very high-end sennheisers too, although I've not tried them.
I do own a pair of the Sennheiser HD212 Pros, and the sound quality on them is pretty damn good. I can only imagine how good it is on their higher-end ones.
