I've noticed that the recommendations thread has been pretty much abandoned, most likely because;

A) No one reads the stickies
B) They were mostly random

So I came up with this idea. Every week, a few pop-punkers will message me on AIM or MSN with their recommendations for what they have been listening to and new bands to look out for, and I will post a thread up here giving full credit to them of course, with links to PV and Myspace accounts as well.

I'm just wondering who would be interested in doing this. If it were to happen, I would prefer a pretty wide range of bands, and a mixture of rising names and the more mainstream ones too.

So yeah. If you would be interested in looking out for new bands and letting the forum know about them, then post your name up. We can try it out for Friday, so if you find any good bands, message me k?

I may do this if I find anything good, otherwise I can use ones I already listen to or something.

Brian and I kind of did/do this and there's not a huge response :-\

But if it's going I'll participate.

That's the spirit. A slightly dead one, but still! People with musical knowledge and a good eye for talent! Step forward and lend the forum your services!

I couldn't like commit to this every week because I won't find that many new bands or recomendations but I will definetly do it if I find something.

I don't see why people can't find their own new music to listen to.

These are usually more fun writing than reading.

People enjoy whoring out new bands they've discovered.

You have to hear about a band somewhere, be it a website, a friend or something else. Why not here?
