I remembered Alt&Indie doing this a while back and it seemed like a great idea.

The Concept
Everyone can decide on an album to listen to. Once an album is chosen, anyone who wants to participate can go into an AIM chatroom. We'll make sure everyone has the chosen album, and when everyone's ready we synchronize the start of the album and while it plays through we can comment on songs, point out things we like and don't like. Basically any discussion goes.

So the first thing I would want to know is are people actually interested in this? I don't want to do it if no one else wants to. If you guys do, then post in here and say so, then we can have nominations and voting rounds for the albums. We'll also need to work around time differences and when people can and can't participate.

To nominate / vote for albums, go here. (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=442475)

I think it sounds like an OK idea for the people who would want to do it, but I wouldn't participate. I don't know why, I just think I wouldn't want to do something like that. I also doubt I would have many of the albums you guys would listen to so, I wouldn't be able to participate anyways

I would like to do it, but if I were to participate, the best time would be around right now, maybe a little earlier, maybe later. But yeah, I would wanna do it.

Would it be an album we don't really know, or one we all know really well?

I think we should pick a band we don't really know, we can discuss like, "Hey, I like this band" or "No, I don't really like it" and watch our opinions change as we listen more...

OH NOEZ what will I wear?!

Yeah that would be better, and there could be songs we like/dislike, even if we like/dislike the band which = better discussion.

Aw, come on man. It would be no problem to distribute the album. Through YSI or whatever. It'd be fun. :(

Alright, cool.

It would be better if it was an album that not many people have heard.

Seems too time consuming, plus coordinating is hard :-\

But if I'm free when we do it I'm in.

Not really. Seeing as to how much time most of us already spend on the internet.

I would def do it but I could of course only participate with albums I have but I think it is a great idea.

My computer downloads songs at the fastest 13kb/s so it would take a hella of a long time to download an entire album

I'd be interested. It'd all just depend on when and such.
Album Ideas:
Panic At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
The Academy Is... - Almost Here
Receiving End Of Sirens - Between The Heart And The Synapse
Coheed and Cambria - Any album.

... those are just my thoughts.

I was thinking a Coheed album too. Any one would give us a lot to talk about.

Everyone's heard them before though, we need something fresh.

And I don't like them.

Then we should do a Pelican album. :D

Or what Brandon said.

:thumb: I love that album.

But yeah, I'd probably be up for this. Of course, it would depend on the time, which has been said.

EDIT: Another idea, choose an album that has just come out, or, if someone has a leak, shortly before it comes out. That way it'll be new for a lot of us.

The new Hawthorne Heights and I'm not sure how many people would like it but the new Yellowcard CD is really good.

We should listen to the new Action Action CD, An Army Of Shapes Between Wars, because Action Action rules.

Good idea. I actually forgot that I haven't listened to their new CD yet, so this would be a good time to do it. They do rule. :thumb:
