Hey sry guys for posting alot of threads but heres another question

Well...My brother always gets pissed of if i untune his guitar. But then he says that i have to buy him new ones cuase once thier streched out and you loosen them it looses thier sound.

So i dont know if its true but. Well i heard that people take thier strings off and clean then and put them back on. Well does it actually loose thier sound cause u realese the tension?.

i think youre brother is a bit of a twat, and no, it wont do any significant damage to the sound or tension of the strings

no damage soundwise, but guitar strings are a bitch to put on if you take em off...
bass strings are much easier to put on

you can fiddle with the tuning tuning them below standard without a problem. if you tune them up really far like to where you should just have different strings (like a B up to an E) then when you go back itll be kinda ick
