Why is everyone staring at their fretboards?

You have a pimp *** fender jazz!

I always look at my fretboard.

I recently switched from playing my 5 string Schecter for this band to playing my 4 string Jazz so I'm not quite comfortable going blind yet since I've had to relearn the songs.

The guitarist with the ridiculous headband broke a string and borrowed another band's guitar so he wasn't used to it.

The other guitarist plays around the fretboard a lot so he looks to keep himself oriented.

Is that a MIA or a MIM Fender Jazz? Also, what are your feelings about the tone and performance of the bass?

It's an American.

It feels gorgeous to play. I like the tone quite a bit but when I get the money I'll be putting in some Nordstrand pickups to really bring out its full potential.

It went well enough. We had a good time and the crowd liked us even though most of them were there for rock bands.

A cover band won though. That kind of pissed me off.

The bass player was pretty good; a bit show-offy but he had some solid playing. The rest weren't too bad either. There were other bands there with a lot more talent and originality though... I hate that people think "omg I know this song therefore this band is awesome."

hmm, i remember a thread somewhere about common bassist stereotypes in appearance, about how bassists are the tallest, fatest, ugliest...

*gasp, groundzero isn't really a bassist!!

The monitor system was pretty bad. Our drumemr could hear us for a change, but none of us could hear Kyle (the guitarist with the headband) at all. Even during the parts where just him and I play he was completely drowned out. Then he broke a string.

It didn't go terribly smoothly but we made it through and us and the crowd had a good time which is all that really matters.

I am pretty small; 5'5" 130lbs.

And here at RIT anyone that showers and doesn't play counterstrike all day is hot.

I've never seen a battle of the bands that actually allowed covers. Hell, I remember a friend of mine's band wanting to spend 20 seconds blasting through "Happy Birthday" during their set, for a friend. Weren't allowed.

There was a battle of the bands last year in my town and a metal cover band won.

I love the vocals, but I know they're not for everyone.

And yeah, the studio we went to made us sound really nice.

Yeah, I'm using my Jazz in this band from now on.

I'm going to restring my Schecter EADGC and play some more melodic stuff on it.

Doesn't the chick from the Subways play a Jazz? It is amazing how big it looks on her. Almost funny.

It's a hot combo, her and the bass.

I play my Schecter Stiletto 5 in my screamo band (hit the low notes) but my J in my experimental band. The J is a time tested warrior and just sounds great in any situation. :D
