Props to Butler for stealing the idea.

This thread is to inform all of you lovely people of new albums that are going to be released in the coming year. Feel free to post ones you know of. I'll edit them into this post so it's one compiled list.

I only know two, so have at it. Genres are not limited to Pop Punk.

For all of the albums that I don't know the names of or the names aren't posted, I'm just putting question marks. So if you see something that you know the name of, feel free to quote it and say the name.

dont just say "new ...."

Give Months, Date, Links if you have any, the more info the better, and more successfull the thread would be.

Back in 2004, AFI began writing songs for their seventh studio offering, which is due in stores late this spring. "We ended up writing somewhere between 80 and 100 songs," frontman Davey Havok said. "Really!" he continued, when challenged about the sum. "I have lyric books full and full of complete songs. It was crazy. We just kept writing and writing and writing ... it's been a long process and it was a bit excessive."

In the end, AFI whittled those 80 to 100 cuts down to 22, and ended up recording just 14 when they hit the studio with producer Jerry Finn (Blink-182, Rancid). Twelve of those will end up on the record, said to be a "sophisticated, melodic" opus that'll please even old-school AFI followers.

"There are a few tracks that are really aggressive and have — dare I say — pretty heavy hardcore leanings," à la 1997's Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, Havok said. "There are just a few — by no means is the record weighted in that direction. But there are definitely some hardcore moments on there."

Cool, I like hxc AFI, haha.

^ I heard about Fear Before but I wasn't 100% sure...hopefully it's even darker than the second album. I liked both of their albums a lot but it seemed like they really grew up on Art Damage.

Can't wait for new PTW and Hot Cross, too...Opposite of December and Cryonics were OK, but I liked their old stuff better.

You Come Before You is sick. I've been listening to it so much lately and I love it. It's much better than TOoD.

cbmartinez
02-06-2006, 08:18 PM
Yes! It's so much more mature than their old stuff and completely breaks the mold of modern metal and metalcore. One of the best albums of the last 10 years.

B
02-06-2006, 08:22 PM
For sure, I used to like TOOD more and then I gave YCBY a good listen and I completely changed my mind. Crystal Lake is such an awesome song.

THOUGH, it is really annoying when your favourite bands release albums close together, you can't concentrate on listening to more than one album at a time, and you can't get excited about more than two. You can't chop and change when it's brand new.

Dream Theater release a new album already.

New Maiden will pwn. I'm very sceptical about new Rancid though, because Indestructable really sucked the monkey hard, as did Lars' "Vikings" and The Transplants. I dunno, I'd really dig another very ska Rancid album, like ...Out Come The Wolves, but I might just be dreaming.

Pssst, the band is playing a “secret” show at Stinky’s tonight with Dead To Me and The Double D's. Seeya there. The real news is that we have a new mp3 available from the upcoming CDEP, Never Trust A Hippy. That thing comes out March 14th, to be followed by the release of the full length, Wolves In Wolves’ Clothing, out April 18th. What else is there…oh yeah, the new mp3 is for the song “Seeing Double At The Triple Rock”, which is an ode to D4’s bar and their kick *** bowling team. Carry on!
