these things are weird, the pups can be slid up and down the central carbon rods, the central section can be tilted within the wings for comfortable playing when sitting or standing, the nut is made of aircraft grade aluminium, yet the review i read said the still had a classicish tone reminisent of a fender with a hint of Ricky.

gibson had the sliding p-up on one of their basses. i believe the grabber or ripper? not sure which one. but i'd get the python just because it looks crazy, and we all know that looks mean everything when it comes to music

the wraith's not bad, the merlin's mad, and the python just an outrageous piece of nonsense.

I wonder if it's possible to create something usefull... the sliding pickups... and NOT stick it onto some tacky 80's looking concept bass. I mean, a standard, tasteful looking bass with those in it would be so much cooler and more useful.

Yeah, Id like to see this applied to a somewhat normal looking bass.
It should also have detents/markings where the pickups "should" be (ie, their normal sweetspots)

They look damm good, probably quite versatile, but having gaping holes in your body might kill some tone perhaps, I'd love to try one at least, probably wuite expensive though.

interesting ...
i think theyre cool, i dont love the styling, but its different. at least they dont look like a fender or yamaha ripoff. perhaps theyd be more attractive if theyd tone down the design a bit. :p
