Hi!

This is the first thread of my creation in a long long time. Anyway, I've uploaded some of my band's songs to a Soundclick-account. You won't understand most of the lyrics, but trust me, they're good. :)

Comments and criticism much appreciated.

Woah it's like the seventies never left! Nice stuff, loving the horn parts.

11 people? crazy, but am liking the music. A little empty imo, i just feel like it lacks a tiny little edge.

EDIT: Except Orientexpressen, which i really like!

Thanks! 10 people. :)

The edge that you miss could be the mixing, it's really not well mixed at all. Our guitarist's computer crashed when he was working on it, so we have to do it all over again. This mixing is just some hasty work we did in the studio before leaving.

Or the edge could be the lyrics. I know that lyrics means really much to me, and if I just hear some gibberish a song won't do as much for me.

Did you try to download or to stream? The downloads don't work for me either yet, but both the streaming versions do.

That was really refreshing actually, tight band, solid as hell, toneful, melodic; you've got it all down.

I would agree with the "edge" thing, the songs feel a little static and manufactured. Bring them home a little bit.

Man, I really dig that stuff. The bass just needs to be a tad bit louder. I cant hear it very well.

But, overall. :thumb:

If I had mixed it, there would be bass all over the place. ;)

I'm going to say what other people have said, the songs are lacking something very subtle but very important to "bring them home". However, I do realize that the mix was pretty weird, and a more pronounced bassline would have done wonders (not your fault, of course). The songs sometimes went on for a little long, I thought, but that just my opinion.

That said, I really, really dig your stuff! Two :thumb:s up from me

Whoa, a reggae/funkband :D We have a pretty good reggae band next to our rehersal place. I understand the lyrics, they fit the music, a little left wing though? :thumb:

^^Left wing lyrics are pretty common for that kind of music :thumb:

The only thing I don't really dig is the fact that the whole chorus is sung ehh harmonized? I thought that was killing it a bit for me. But you guys (and girls) remind me of a local band that I really dig! http://www.malavita.net So you've done a great job there :)

Haha.. I love the "Å fyfan va gött".
I think you should use that overkill goethenburgish accent for the vocals as well ;)

I get the feeling that "orientexpressen" is the bus to the suburb or something :P

Thanks! I have the uttermost respect for your opinions, Havic, so your kind words are really appreciated. :) After we've mixed the songs, I'll be sure to post them again so we can see if that was what was lacking.

Very left wing. :) That shouldn't be a surprise, giving that we're really inspired by bands like Svenska Akademien...

I talked to the guitarist tonight - we're remixing this weekend. :) Soon you will have even better songs to listen to.

(yes, this was a bump in disguise, stop complaining :p)
