I just finished a 3 hour long game with my friend. Well, we didn't really finish it but we called it a draw and quit because we were getting nowhere. I had him trapped in a corner, but we were stalemated at the last bridge. Here's a screenshot of my map after he quit.. the sideways T shape on the right of the map is a massive line of turrets I built and everything else is army.

I was Eldar and he was Space Marines.. at the end I had lost 3200 units with a 3500 sized army and he had lost 1200 units. Anyway, the point of this thread is to see if anyone else likes DoW and wants to ever play. We use the total war mods so it increases the caps to 60 instead of the retarded 20.

I have DoW and the x-pack. Sounds like a cool game you fought. I use to play it a lot but not so much anymore. The space-marines, are in my opinion far to over powerd. They have the ability to stealth in to your base and then drop their entire army into your base, full squads and everything. They also have the ability to remake their troops fast enough to create a pretty much constant barrage of drops. No other army can do that, eldar come somewhat close but they have to actually build a building near the enemy. There also is no way to really counter the space marine from dropping their troops because if the person has good enough micro by the time you kill the scout he could of already sent in his troops.
i heard from a friend who plays video games that game isn't worth buying and that it's gay

Space Marines are not overpowered. Their units are very powerful, but I can beat them with Eldar because I can make my units a lot faster then they can. Plus in Winter Assault Eldar got a new infantry unit that kicks ***.i heard from a friend who plays video games that game isn't worth buying and that it's gay
Your friend is gay because he thinks he has to buy it. Direct hosting works on downloaded versions.. let your friend know that next time you're sucking his ****.

Space Marines are over powerd. It might take them a longer to build up their army if they are going to drop but its not like they can't rush or anything. Space Marines excelt at every part of the game and don't really have a big weakness.

I really need the expansion.

Oh yea, you can also beat them with Chaos because you can upgrade your regular infantry to carry rocket launchers which pwns the marine tanks. Personally I think the game is pretty balanced.. except for maybe the Orks they're not too great.

Chaos are also really expensive, that strategy would cost a lot of req.

Playing in standard or QS matches?
QS obviously.. why do you think we use the total war mod? I want action and lots of it, not retarded strategizing over which units you're going to build before your 20 cap is filled up.

If I got this again, would people be up for some games? Because if I remember correctly the single player sucked, and this would be fun.

I'd play. You don't even have to buy the game... like I said you can just dl it and use direct connecting. I only play with QS/fast resources etc and occasionally I enable cheats for fun.

DOW2's single player is weird, it's like an RPG sort of.

i prefer DOW2 multiplayer tbh. No base building means you get to spend more time focusing on your units
