I just started watching the first season. I'm on ep 3, and there's something I don't get. Tony had his friend's (the cheif) restaurant burned.. but I don't get why. Something about his uncle planning to whack someone there? And his uncle wouldn't change where he wanted to whack the guy? But who was so important that he wanted to whack, and why would he choose that guy's restaurant? Was it to piss Tony off?

Tony sent Silvio to burn down the restaurant because he believed that the insurance Artie would collect from his torched restaurant would be better than bad publicity and loss of business.
How do you like the show, by the way?

Yea, so when Tony tried to talk his uncle out of not killing the guy in that restaurant it was just because it was his friends restaurant and he didn't want to see business go away?
And the show is pretty good.. I definitely like the Shield more but the Sopranos is pretty interesting.

Yeah, pretty much.
The show gets better as the seasons go by.

Yea actually I'm beginning to like it more and more with each episode. It was kinda funny how his shrink is telling Tony about the cop he hired, beating up her date.
Plus it's based in Jersey..

The Sopranos rules.
I've seen all the seasons. I want to see the 5th one again though.
