The only good thing about it is it stars Steve Carell, which is good since a) he was in the original, b) he's a pretty funny guy and c) he's become a big enough star to be able to carry a film. That being said, the writing will probably suck and the plot will be ridiculously outlandish, just like most crappy sequels of average films.

I mean, as much as Jim Carrey annoys me, he does suit certain roles and made Bruce Almighty a watchable film. I would probably have hated it if it had someone else in it. Which this does.

I wish hollywood would come up with some new ideas. I mean, TV shows have gotten really good and original recently and become big hits- so why can't movies?

Dick and Jane was blah. Jim Carrey's best movie is Eternal Sunshine, and I really liked the Truman Show. But for laughs, Dumb and Dumber is tops.

How good this movie is depends on how closely Steve Correl works with them on the script (probably pretty close as he's the only person listed on the imdb credits), and whether or not he calls in a favor from Steven Colbert to lend his obscure godly humor to the movie.
