In this thread we look for records that come out this year and what to look out for. I'm pretty sure this thread is legal. You can reserve a spot in the thread which you can edit when you listen to more stuff. Also feel free to post whatever you want as long as it's related to this year's music releases. If there is already a thread like this....

Liked :
Devin Townsend - Synchestra
In Flames - Come Clarity
Dragonforce - Inhuman Rampage
Didn't Like :
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin Re-Release
Yellowcard - Lights And Sounds
Edguy - Rocketride
Would Like To Hear :
Mastodon - Call Of The Mastodon
Rhapsody - Live In Canada 2005
Zyklon - Storm Detonation Live
David Bowie - The Platinum Collection
P.O.D. - Testify
Tortoise & Bonnie Prince Billy - The Brave And The Bold
Barry Manilow - The Greatest Song Of The Fifties
Devin Townsend - Synchestra
Fuses polka with metal. Excellent clean vocals. Orchestration, banjo work, epic songs and transitions from one track to the other are done flawlessly. Rarely boring, my first Devin Townsend record.
In Flames - Come Clarity
Seems to divide fans. For me it's an excellent piece of work. Catchy, brutal and melodic. Better that Reroute To Remain and Soundtrack To Your Escape by a mile. This record is my suprise hit of the year.
Yellowcard - Lights And Sounds
Boring, sucky, uninspiring. Need I say more. Whoever gave this Piece of **** a classic rating on sputnik shoud be shot. I'm fairly open minded to artists (hey I listened to Yellowcard) but this is just awful.
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin Re-Release
Essentialy a 1999 release. The breakthrough record for The Flaming Lips is just not my kinda of thing but I can definetly see why some people like it. If you're interested the music is pop/indie like.
Edguy - Rocketride
Gave it a listen. Not impressed. I was expecting something in the lines of Angra but it's too simplistic, poppy, reminds me of Bon Jovi. The cover is awful. Reminds me of something a very old band would do.
Dragonforce - Inhuman Rampage
Awesome. The fastest riffs in the universe. This does what Rocketride does not. The breakdowns, solo's, extreme speed, keyboards. Everything is done so nicely. Most excellent and most interesting power metal record.
