So did anybody here about the new attack? I read in the papers that there will be another massive attack launched. Now I'm pretty sure it said either today or tomorrow. I forgot what virus it was, but it's supposed to hit many millions.

I heard it had a high infection rate... I suggest you people get your anti-virus software up to date.

If they know of the attack why doesnt somebody prevent it?
If these people know, shouldnt cops or w/e know?
My computers protected well. I don't need to worry
by the way, windows firewall doesnt count as protection.

Sorry, but how stupid do you have to be to open an e-mail from someone you dont know, and open an attachment from it.

Yeah only retards are going to be affected.
It's sent through an explicit email, and you have to actually open the file to be infected. I've never been infected by a virus...but I'm worried abuot my dad opening the email on the computer.

Panda makes the best internet security software! BEST
I scanned with norton, and avast, and they both found nothing. However, when I scanned with Panda's software, IT FOUND 206 COOKIES WITH SPYWARE AND 195 MISC SPYWARE :O

This virus is lame anyway.

If you were the type of person who would open an attachment from an unknown sender you probably wont even notice it's there.
Those people shouldn't be on the internet anyway.

I don't open "hot movie" type emails, much less emails I don't know who they are from and never would I dl a attachment...
In other words... I don't care about this virus.
I'm predicting a mass suicide by emo kids who lose their suicide poems though.
I think it will actaully do good.

Yeah, this sort of thing is trouble. I never open an email from anyone I don't know, period. Or a company or organaztion I don't do business with.
Trouble is a lot of these emails are sent to places of peoples work, and they don't give a crap about the computers there, so the just open up emails regardless. And then there are people like a friend I have who does a lot of shopping online and doesn't check her inbox very often. She'll have upwards of 400 unopened emails she just starts tearing through. Doesn't even pay attention to what it is or who sent it.
And so far as I understand, once a worm gets started, it harvests all the stored email addresses in the infected machines address book(s) and then sends out infected emails to them that looks like it came from the user of that machine. With various different subject lines as to fool the recipient. So it pays to be a little careful even if you think you know who an email came from.
EDIT: What's funny is that the virus writers always use sex to lure the recipient into opening the email. As if you can't find enough of that online at the click of a mouse button yourself....
