If I have a high speed internet connection installed and running on my computer, is it safe to uninstall the BCM V.92 56K Modem, the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite and the Broadcom Driver Installer?

Ugh.
After restarting my computer, it automatically reinstalled the Broadcom crap via Windows automatic updates.

You shouldn't need the Control Suite, but the Driver Installer might be necessary. I don't know how it works.
With my cable modem, I just installed the driver for it via the Device Manager.

You could disable the windows updates but you might want to keep them on for when patches come out for new security exploits.

I have mine completely disabled. Not just turned off, but non-existent, for all intents and purposes. My Security Center doesn't even work. I just enable the stuff I need every Tuesday and check for updates at the MS website. That crap sure does eat a lot of system resources.
Only 27 processes running at idle.

I circled the relevant part of that screenshot so you don't get distracted.

That's a great job. I think I gave you a link one day to help you with that. Nice work. No security on this PC though, right? This is your gaming PC? Yeah, nice going, anyway. And it does make a tremendous difference in performance.
And that is a very nice pic. Tasteful even. I'm surprised. :p
EDIT: Two gigs of memeory. Nice....

Thanks.. yea that was on my gaming pc. (Your link helped a lot with this pc though) When I took that screenshot Sygate (firewall) and NOD32 (antivirus) were running. I play online so that's why I got them. Originally I was just going to keep that computer offline and not bother with it.. but where's the fun in that?

I have 45 processes, but I use/need all of them.

It shouldnt if you remove the PCI card (unless its internal).
