ITT: Black Magic Woman

So I was listening to the radio the other night and they had a special on British Guitarists. Then they started talking about the song Black Magic Woman. Now I thought this was originally done by Santana, but apparently it was done first by Peter Green & Fleetwood Mac. Is this true?


They also went on how Peter Green took too many acid trips and shot a guy in the face.

It's also true Green took lots of acid and kind of fell away from the music buisness, but I'm not too sure about the shooting in the face part.

After he left the band, he still recieved royalties from the band. So when some random guy brought him a cheque for $20,000, Green shot him in the face

I've been meaning to check out Green era Fleetwood Mac when they were a blues band.
