this is an awesome cover man and since i love syd barret im to judge this with the utmost detail and you did an excellent job of preserving that syd barret style. very well done. the singing was pleasing and clear as well as the guitar playing. very good, very good.

I've heard the original before, though I've never heard Gilmour's. The vocal style is definately different, but that's probably just because you were aiming for Gilmour rather than Syd, but the vast majority of it was about as spot on as someone can do. Very, very well done.

You should really check out Barret's version, it's really good- in a kind of way that Barret really is exceptional at.

yeah its on "Wouldn't You Miss Me: The Best of Syd Barrett" cd. i've never heard the gilmour versions either and more or less i judged your cover on memory of the song since Cantbuyathrill mentioned that it didn't sound like the Syd Barrett style so i had another listen and he's right syd' version is much slower. This is however the perfect song to cover, and one that i had wanted to but forgot about, since it goes so slow you can up the tempo and it sounds even better, as you have done. i still think though that you sang more like Barrett. again, great job.

Nice cover.

I also checked out your cover of Echoes, also brilliant. Nice job on the vocals.

Thanks guys for listning and commenting, nice to get some replies like this.

I am thinking about getting best of Barret. I now undertand he has lot of stuff that wasnt included in Floyd cds, and its so hard to find on internet anyway.
Another one that was played in Gilmour in concert was Dominos, and I must say these 2 songs grabbed my attention right away.

"Barret" and "The Madcap Laughs" are the only ones that I've heard really positive reviews on. I'm a person who's big on listening to full actual albums, so that's what I, personally, would go for if I were looking into getting some Barret. I've heard the two of them like twice each, and I really liked "Madcap". I didn't really listen to "Barret" enough.

I could upload it on yousendit.com in a .zip file then send it to your email.

I'd have to do it tomorrow though.
