Well Seether and Shinedown are on a tour now.

I saw them two days ago at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa Oklahoma. They pretty much rocked my face off!
I guess you guys can talk about if any of you guys have seen shinedown or seether or similar bands in concert and what you thought.

Seether.. ha..

I remember I heard that remedy song..

I was jamming a hour later and decided to figure it out, for kicks.

Took me liike 2 minutes. To figure most of the song out.

I wish I could learn simple songs in two minutes as everyone who plays guitar here seems to want to claim readily. I've always wondered why everyone thinks extreme technicality sets the bar for liking music.

I don't like Seether that much. They have a few good songs, but I don't really care for them. Shinedown are excellent, though, for sure! I love the acoustic version to ".45," but their new album was great. "Lady So Divine," even though it was long as hell, was superb.

Remedy and Fine Again aren't too bad.

I don't really like Seether that much. Shinedown is great, the vocalist is on of the best in the whole alt. rock thing. Saw them live at summerfest last year and had Soil open for them who totally blew them out of the water somehow.

Really? Their vocalist comes across as very unremarkable to me. And I know you're quite critical (in a good way) when it comes to vocalists.

Well he's got range and tons of control and an okay tone. He's also very accurate. I can't really remember what songs showcase his vocals though, I don't have any of their albums.

Regardless of that, his lyrics and his melodies do nothing for me, and the "okay tone" part is a big negative as well. You can be as technically gifted as you please but if your voice doesn't do anything for me, I won't give a damn. ;) I know you'd probably agree.

Well the "okay tone" I mean't as a technicality. He has a very unique and accomplished sound, it's just that classically speaking he would probably be called an amatuer. I know this because my significant other is a classical singer and she's really critical on vocals too, which is sad because she hates most music with harsh vocals.

The tone is definately better than average in alt. rock standards.

Yeah before i went Seether didnt seem to do much for me but i absolutely love Shinedown. Though Seether's singer reminds me a hell a of a lot of Curt Kobain live. Just the way he acted and stuff. Seether also did an exccelent cover of Nirvan's "Drain You". Even though it's an esay songs on all three instruments they still did an awesome job.
