Great. The stone actually starts rolling. I'm gonna listen.

EDIT: Nice intro in Faster. What does this remind me of... 60s pop, Beatles? Maybe. Very nice and mellow sound. Best part is maybe the voice.

I wonder how the next song, Hallelujah, is like...

Now it starts. Oh, this one, I'm familiar with this song... nice harmonies going on in the beginning.

Perfect, I'll listen to it!

EDIT: The song was quite enjoyable. Pleasant to the ear. However, the harmony part sounded a little... defensive, in lack of a better description. Yet, I liked it.

Very, very, very good. Could you do me a favour? Make a version of either Comfortably Numb or Time. Even if it's only a voice and an acoustic guitar I would be happy. The musicianship shined through very well in the Echo recording. Class.

Well thank you very much for the comments, means alot.
I have been thinking of doing something for Comfortably numb, didnt go that well last time I tried, but I will do a cover with vocals and acoustic only soon (within next 2 weeks... promise!)

As for time, I may have to go half step down for the vocal harmony parts, not sure how it will work, but I will give that a try.

I'm still eager about the harmony vocals! Especially if the song is rock oriented and the harmony shines through in the chorus.

Allright, this might be a bit different than what you have imagined probably.
It is vocal harmony, its actually all vocal harmony but not sure if its what you wanted.
Nothingelse worked, and this idea just came to me, its very basic actually.

I am just doing a crappy job of a keyboard here actually, but I had fun with it, and I think the chorus part is actually very cool. anyways try to guess just from hte chords.

I MADE ALOT OF ERRORS IN DIFFERENT PARTS, but its 3-4 layers of vocals, and it was harder than I imagined :p

There's harmony vocals in two of the songs there. They're subtle but yea.

Could anyone share some harmony vocal techniques? I know the most basic one would be just for a second person do sing the octave of what the first person is singing, but surely there must be something more complex than that? Thanks in advance.

For me there is two side of it:
Theory: Vocal harmony is no different than playing two or more different notes in any instrument. Lets take a chord for example Am (notes: A C E) A is the root C is the 3rd E is the 5th.
If you sing all note together you get the Am chord, ofcourse there are different octaves and you can do chord inversion which sounds really cool. Usually in vocal harmonies they sing the 3rd ( A and C for example) or 5ths. Octaves are not as colourful but they do have their effects. Depending on the chord you can have different notes of scale singing together A and B for example (root and 2nd).
Singing side: Now unlike holding a key or pluckin a note you have to be able to sustain the note you are singing or you will sound out of tune like an out of tune guitar.

I cant explain how each sound like you are just gonna have to expirment by using a very basic theory behind it.

Thanks for that, very helpful.

What's "chord inversion" though? Also, would singing the first and the second together not be "wrong" somehow? I know the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th would all be in the key, but aren't the 3rd, 5th and octave the "best" somehow?

Thanks again for any help clearing this up!

Chord inversion is when you bring up 3rd or 5th of a chord to the bass
instead
A C E - in order of lowest to highest octave will be played like
C E A - still A minor chord but with C as the bass

also, as for singing the 2nd note.... actually before that if you are an artist, nothing is ever wrong :p ... ok as for the 2nd note if you have a added 9th chord for example or a Am9 chord or watever as long as you have that 2nd note in the chord you are fine it will sound good, dont belive me? well listen to Breathe by pink floyd, the line starting " Breathe " is 2nd, I belive stays as second but not sure, but starting notes are E and F#
