the nominations have been done for a while now so i was just wondering what happened.
my guess: Moses (the guy who was supposed to do it) saw how many votes Lars Ulrich had and killed himself :(
ok so you can close this thread whenever you want, but i just want an answer sometime.

Why have it if it's just little twats voting for Lars, because they know the name.
He's not that good a drummer, just well known.

Lar's is not a bad drummer at all, I don't see what everyone has against him.

He's a bad human being is what people have against him.
Well, reportedly, I haven't met the guy.

I've seen him be act "scum bag 101" on camera.
Someone on camera is good enough proof for me.

Apart from his spectacular inability to keep in any sort of time, there's nothing wrong with him...much.

If Danny Carey doesn't win, or come close to winning, I'm not going to be happy. Better him than Lars anyway.

Lars Ulrich own Carey blindfolded and without a hand.

You can find anything Lars plays out of drum books designed to teach kids how to play drums overnight. He has no technique, and whatever style (if you can call it that) he's trying to do isn't being pulled off well.

im tired of Lars debates. It gets old hearing the same argument over and over again.

My wang is a better drummer than Lars Ulrich...
Portnoy and Nicko are who'll get my backing.

My top three drummers would be: Nick Mason, John Bonham, and Keith Moon. Classic rock drumming is the best, IMO. :thumb:

That really shortchanges a lot of modern drummers.
Paul Lowndes for example. I found out about him off the Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution debut EP. This guy is phenomenal, but virtually unknown.

Lars = basic rock beat and some double kick, I don't even have to know the song to play Lars' parts. (And I'm not a drummer).

Agree with you.. Dont think he is good if you compare to Portnoy, Dave Weckl(is not a rock drummer though), or Rush's drummer..

Lars is too crap to be acknowledged. Nowhere near Gene Hoglan, Dave Lombardo, or Dennis Gasser (Xentrix).

Nick Mason needs shooting, quite easliy the blandest player ever.

I have no idea if he's any good or not. I just assume that he'll get more votes than he deserves because he's in Pink Floyd (much like Waters in the bassist poll). I mean, sure it's hard to keep time when the tempo is so slow, and I'm sure he's at least COMPETENT, but I already nominated Bill Ward and Dale Crover in the "slow drummers" category :)
Also, it's nice to see that my question wasn't really answered. But in the interest of more Lars bashing, I say let the thread live!

I love Pink Floyd, but Mason is really nothing more than an ordinary drummer. He had a few bright moments in the early days like One of These Days, but after that, he never really did anything interesting on drums. And he actually couldn't play certain parts on The Wall and they had to have a session drummer fill in for him.

I actually tried counting. I spoke to PinkFrued about it too. The problem was that I had exam week last week. It will be up so just hang in there. I apologize but there are alot of nominations.
