After much trying, I finally found a way to hook up an old record player so I could listen to my dad's records.
One of these was Rory Gallagher's Blueprint. And what can I say, this is so much more impressive than most blues-rock of that era.
The only problem is that after this album, all the other records are gunna pale in comparision.
Anyone else love rory?

Rory's a very physical player. Never listened to too much of his stuff though. Heard he's great.

Definately.
I'm not sure why he hasn't gotten more recognition then he has, even from guitar players who are into the whole "virtuoso" thing, no matter what the genre.
People always think of bluesrock as Jimmy Page and Clapton, when there were so many more guys doing it better than them.
Finally a thread like this.
I have his s/t, Live in Europe and Irish Tour.
The live albums are amazing. High energy.
Messin' With The Kid is an amazing song. Too Much Alcohol is another good one.
I love his Strat too, it's a shame he had to die.

Irish Tour is the only one I have and it's great. Supposedly, his live albums are his best, so I'd recommend that. But I haven't heard anything else.

I'd say blueprint.
I honestly can't find anything wrong with it.
mind you, I've never heard any of his other stuff to compare it to.
