i dn't know, are they? i thought a sampler could store anything, drum loops, mp3s or whatever, whereas a loop pedal u had to record live stuff onto to loop. enlighten me!

I think they are the same thing basically, loop pedal just loops whatever ye record into it, and sampler records multiple things and plays thekm when you want with effects and stuff.

wait on it, boss is comming out with a new pedal

the RC-50xl 40 mins of loop time, and 3 seperate syncronized looping tracks. so you can loop a bass line chords and a melody, then go back and change each individualy

I can't remember..but I think CK made a thread on it a few weeks ago.

Do a search.

*on topic*
I've never used either so I can't really say.

Look into the Digitech JamMan. Nice 24 min recording, 99 loops, and all that jazz and you can update to a higher storage memory card allowing longer recording time and it has usb so you can take all yours loops off and store them when you want them or put loops /songs on to play along to.

Apologies I'm very tired or I wouldn't post such a crap post ... basically resear DigiTech JamMan Looper/sampler and take a look at the specs for yourself. Here in England you can get it for about the same price as a Boss RC-20XL and in my opinion its much better ... aiming to get one in the next month.

somehow i wandered into the bass forum (its better than the guitar forum, due to less mayhem)

anyways, its pretty difficult to use a sampler live, they are more or less meant for studio work or dj'in (obviously there are exeptions) a loop pedal is the way to go for live stuff esp. with bass because its made for an instrument.
