Well, I finally got to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and I was totally blown away. Their CDs, even the live ones, don't do them justice in the slightest, and to be honest, Bela is probably the worst in the band.

Jeff Coffin and Futureman blew me away, and I was already expecting a lot. There were so many crazy jazz rythms that they all pulled off without a hitch, Futureman kept some tight jazzy complex cymbol grooves while playing his MIDI thing, which he was a god at in his own right. It's hard to even describe Coffin's playing, you just have to see it for yourself.

Victor has gotten even better, and in the good way. Classical Thump is **** compared to what he played last night. His mastery of the bass and everything it can do is truly awe inspiring, and he grooved his way through his bass solo geniously. He looks more and more like a chipmunk as the years go by though .

I think Bela was having an off night, because he paled in comparison to the rest of them, but it was an amazing show nevertheless. If any of you have a chance to go, it will blow you away, seriously. I believe they're going to be touring for a while now, after a year long hiatus, and they're only getting older. This is one of those bands that everyone is going to wish they could have seen while they were still around in 20 years, and you don't want to miss out.

"Seeing the Flecktones isn't going to a concert. It's going through a musical experience" - my cousin.

Yeah, the Flecktones represent a pinnacle of virtuosity and a pinnacle of groove. Seeing them in full swing is just amazing.

cool. They're stopping by my "local" venue I always see concerts at, B.B. Kings in Times Square. The date is............ April 21, and only 30 bucks. I'll definitely go and try to drag somebody along.

You don't consider dirty underwear to be music?

Yeah I saw them two summers back and I was impressed. But, I thought their stage performance was horrible. I think Bela has just gotten so good that hes just kinda doing it just to make money and not for fun anyomore. Same with Victor, he seemed hella bored that night. Futureman was pretty cool but he was still a little boring. Jeff Coffin was good too especially when he whipped out his Tenor and Alto at the same time, that was bad ***! But, their stage performance was real just boring I thought.
