How do you sing while playing bass???

It seems confusing to me...

I don't play easy **** though...

Tips appreciated.

Well, the trick is to start easy. It's a skill like anything else, and requires practice and starting off at a low difficulty.

By practicing and doing it.

Same way you do anything.

Practice to the point where you don't even have to think about playing. Easy way to tell when you're ready is to play in front of a TV. If you're able to keep the song going and pay attention to the movie completely in depth, you know you're line well enough. Also, start by talking and holding a conversation before singing. But after you have your line down it shouldn't be that tough.

It'd be the rhythms that throw you as you will be doing a polyrhythm with your whole body.

I sing whilst playing bass and i find it easiest to learn both the bass and the lyrics both really well so you don't have to think at all about doing them.
Also starting with easy songs is good too

I started with easy lines and words like the clash's should I stay or should I go. I find it easier to pay more attention to what I play and just let the words find their way out

try to start ASAP. it seems that the longer you hold off on doing it, the hard it is to learn.

yes Doves, i suggested it, so he can play the lines, learn the song, and sing and play along with them. I wouldnt recommend a beginner learns to play rush and sing... that could discourage him or her.
