hey ppl,
well i went to my local music store to buy myself a new bass and amp as i was fed up with my starter kit. i had a look around at some basses including the yamaha rbx374 which i thought i was gonna get but then i tried out the ibanez SRX500 and i am now the proud owner of it and a ashdown electric blue 15" 180 watt amp.

Nice! Digging the bass, not so sure about the amp though. Also, I see you have the "sub level harmonics" dial maxed out, nice feature, that...

Great bass man ! Welcome to the SRX club ! That thing'll rock yours and anyone else's socks right the eFF off standing within a 500 ft radius. Excellent choice.

I've always had a good time playing an SRX bass. They are solid instruments IMO. Have fun with it.
oh yeah, how come all mid priced basses always have the same finishes? It's always cherryburst or honeyburst. Ibanez, Schecter, and Spektor especially. Isn't that odd? Anywho. great bass. :thumb:

I own the SRX 700 and it is great. The only difference between our basses is mine is a neck through. I love those basses, they play incredibly well and they have a really good neck on them. Sound great too.

I like the bass. I"m starting to consider an Ibanez Soundgear for my next bass which will be a 4 stringer. I'm wanting the SR500BM as of now.
Only thing I really don't like about it is the knobs being in a straight line. Some reason I just don't like the look of it. But the rest is a mighty fine bass and I'm sure it sounds awesome. :thumb:
Also nice amp as well.

Awesome dude, I tried the SRX300 when I was looking for my first bass and the thing had a killer slap tone.
