Ok, here’s how it works, I’ll post two Videos, make a write up and you will discuss them.

The First Video is from Radiohead, called Just.

Year of Release: 1995
Album: The Bends
Director: Jonathan Glazer
Location: Liverpool Street Station

The Story:

The video is filmed in two locations, one is in the street following a man who suddenly lies down on the floor; and the other is on a room filming Radiohead playing the song.
While the man is down, many people go to talk to them but the man is basically shocked, people try to ask him what is wrong and the man only says to leave him alone. At the final moment the man says “"Yes I'll tell you, I'll tell you why I'm lying here... but God forgive me... and God help us all... because you don't know what you ask of me." Then the camera focus on the man’s mouth and when the camera zooms back there’s people lying on the ground around the man.

What did the man said?, no one knows.

The second video is from Peter Gabriel, called Sledgehammer.

Year of release: 1986
Album: So
Director: Stephen R. Johnson
Location: Ardman Animations Studios

Not a real story, but great animation:

‘Till this day, Sledgehammer is one of the most innovating videos in history, the claymation and the stop motion animation work is outstanding.
The cool thing about this video is when he mentions something on the song; let’s say the big dipper, the background turns into a chalkboard with drawings of a rollercoaster. Somehow some of the lyrics are related to the animation.
The legacy of this video is visible in some later works, such as Tool Videos, Alice in Chains Videos even Green Jelly.

Ok, I’m planning to make this a series thread, so if you have some suggestions it will be more than thankful.
I’m open to some video requests as long as they are innovating.

My only real suggestion would be to mask the links somehow; the distortion of the screen can make whatever you've written quite annoying to read.

This could be quite a nice idea, though. Sledgehammer is indeed a very innovative video. One of the first I ever saw and really remembered, I think.

Yes! Sledgehammer is without a doubt one of the greatest music videos ever created. I used to watch it all the time, especially enjoying the dancing chickens.

I just noticed something...:surprised:

Am I the only one that thinks she sounds a little bit like Alanis Morrisette in that song?

Do the evolution is great video, i think it was done by Todd Macfarlane, but i really think Jeremy was far more innovating than do the Evolution.

Some of the future videos you will see are:
UNKLE- Rabbit in your headlights
Pearl Jam-Jeremy
Foo Fighters- Learn to Fly
Rage Against the Machine-Guerrilla Radio
Red Hot Chili Peppers-Californication
Korn-Freak on a Leash
Guns n' Roses-November Rain
Megadeth-Peace Sells
Soundgarden-Black Hole Sun
Aphex Twins-Come to Daddy
Faith No More-Epic
Beastie Boys- Sabotage

I'll also make some special editions with some artists that have great videography collection like Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Metallica, Tool etc.

Sorry for the total lack of Death Metal, Black and Power, but i'm still looking for videos.

It might be a good idea not to give away your future ideas :p

Nice thread though. Both videos are great.

what about sepultura's Arise video, that video spoiled allot of controversy...

sepultura's ratamatha video is also one good video done in clay animation. much like tool's videos....
