So I recently bought a DW, that I could not be happier with, and I also have an electric kit, roland vtour. My electric has been collecting dust, and I am sort of wanting to turn my four piece DW into a 5 piece...So obivously it seems that I could easily sell the Electric kit, with the an extra electric cymbal that I added, and the amp for around 1200 US and buy a new tom and some new cymbals and still have cash left over....But the question is, would I regret selling the electric when I get to college?? Should I hold on to the electric so I can use it college or sell it and pocket the cash?

Well, can you bring your DW with you to college? You have to give us some more details....

From what I have heard, It would be way to loud to play an acoustic. And I am planning for the future here...Im 14.

well, since you might not need another electric for 3 or 4 years, sell it.

I dont know.....if he's going to end up buying another one in 4 years, he's going to lose a big chunk of change....

amen.

You might try keeping the module (the EXPENSIVE part!) and selling off a few of the pads and cymbals 'til you can afford the new tom?

Go with what Chippy said, sell some pads and cymbals.

Hmmm....I would say keep it, but that's just me. I highly doubt that you will be able to practice on an acoustic set at college, it seems really unlikely.

you could sell like 2 tom pads and the kick pad, and the kick pedal, and maybe the rack, and then some cymbals.

and then combine the leftovers into your acoustic set and have some godly sex kit. :D

As once said by a wise asian man in a Wierd Al movie:

STUPID! YOU'RE SO STUPID

Sell off some stuff for money and once you have enough buy the tom. Whatever is left is yours to keep (and possibly add on to your current set).
