Gretsch drums

My friend got a 6 piece Gretsch kit for 400$ for his first kit, are these good or bad?

Gretsch makes good drums. Do you know which ones he got? probably one of the lower end ones but still for a 6 peice that aint too bad.

lately i've been thinking of getting a gretsch instead of my Pro M...i just don't know...

I LOVE my Gretsch snare. 10-ply maple, triple-flanged hoops and Amb batter. Jim loves it too. I couldn't say anything about the kits myself, but I've heard only good things about the Catalina Birch.
