i gotta girl coming over to do a hook for us and i record my artists all the time but i never recorded a singer i herd its different from recording a rapper or anyone else anyone got some tips on it??write back id preciate the feedback thanks

i'd strongly suggest running a compressor through your mic setup, some girls can spike some insane highs when singing. it will help level out the lows and highs to the same volume, not "lows are barely heard and highs are ear piercing"

That's the software version of the compressor SSL had on their reverse studio talkback on their 4000E consoles... first noticed and used as an amazing ambient drum mic compressor by some guy recording phil collins...and surprinsigly enough ive heard even the software version is good.
