I have the same problem. I can sing along with avenged sevenfold and bleeding no problem, but when it comes to the parts where they scream I can't seem to hang onto it. So yea if you can help us both.

For starters use the search function, but your problem lies in your lack of diaphram support. Use the muscles in your abdomen to open your ribs and support your airflow.

umm well u can make a whisper like screaming sound but that's not really screaming. I did have that problem.
well first of all just practice a lot , as you start using your voice it will get stronger and you will be able to control your screams.
and as for the how to scream part umm
its easier said than done . but if I were to explain it umm i would say
u need to take in air just like when you sing and are ready to hold a note
a deep breath then push the air out while i think its more liek shouting with rasp. you need to tighten your vocal chords for a higher scream and open the chords for a lower scream. its hard yah, im having trouble explaining
there is a thread somwehre here, screaming 101 , wen i first started learning i read his how to scream thing and i jus gradualy learned it ..
yeah and just recently i learned how to emoscream like taking back sunday
the really high scream that almost sounds like he's about to cry ahhahahah
yeah its awsome i think . have fun with it and hte best of luck

well avenge sevenfold is not a good band to scream along with try something more thick like all that remains or caliban. while trying to sream i find its no about being loud, if u can scream u can scream , its not yelling either, practice at low volumes then practice through a mic, some people have better vocals then others its just the way it goes

maybe you aren't being as loud as you really could. like maybe you are holding back, because you don't want to sound to crazy. i would NEVER practicing my screaming voice unless I'm in a practice space, because someone might call the cops. maybe you just really need to feel more angry when you are doing it -- like instead of imitating anger, be angry.

hes wrong u dont need to be angry to scream, if you are in a good mood and go on stage you wont not be able to scream cause your not angry, all you need is to have energy and technique, you do different things when you do highs and lows, thats where technique comes in its not science its just things you do that make you sound better then as if your were yelling.
the thing i would say to practice is keeping notes, listen to good singers and get your vocal range higher and lower, then once you have some skill make a unique style like variations in sreams, good singers can sing so on the cd it makes you think they have 2 or 3 vocalists.
In a show its good to give to your audience, ive never blown my voice or had a point where i just could not scream but some people do so screaming with anger they say is not a good thing to do, dont throw out your voice after your first 2 songs ...
any way you get the point im sure
