Hey, I basically just want to know the best way to put my bands music on the computer, so everybody can listen to it. I don't have any recording equipment, but I do have a mixer with record outputs on it. I am trying to avoid having to spend any money on this. I know I won;t get the best quality recordings this way, but I just want to get my bands music onto the web. How can I do this? Thanks for all the help

Well, I'm guessing because you have a mixer, you have mics and such. it may be shoddy quality, but if you mic'd up everything right, amps, drums, etc (but I would do bass directly in, or right out from the amp's "direct out" jack.) you should have a listenable recording.
I would reccomend reading the "Home Recording Guide" (search it on google, something at 'earthlink.net') for a more specific, more detailed explanation on the topic.

Shayne has it all right, but there is another option. You could use the outputs and go directly into your computers soundcard (if your card has the right inputs), but this will yeild poor quality sound. It's really worth the $150 to buy an m-audio USB hub.

Um... thanks for the support there, but I'm not sure there would be much difference at all in quality by using the USB hub. It's intended for use for those without a mixer, so it would be redundant.
If there's a sound quality issue, investing in a Soundblaster Live! 24-bit external card would be much more worth his while, because he doesnt need multitrack capabilities. it's only 60 bucks CAD, which is around 45 USD and 35 in quid. (I think?)
His sound card (well, most stock soundcards at least) will be decent for running a line out from the mixer.
