Ok, so in a few weeks, I will be booking time in the recording studio at college to record some new tracks, and re-record one or two of my old ones for my black metal demo.
I have in the past, programmed all the drums using Leafdrums, and using Drumkit From Hell samples, but you can tell they are programmed.
What I had in mind to do this time round, is to program the kicks (there's some pretty fast kick stuff in there, I can't double kick that fast for very long, seen as I don't get to practice often as I don't own a kit), and record the snare, hats, crashes and toms myself (I'm pretty fast with my arms) to give it more of a live feel.
Quorthon from Bathory used to do this, and Anaal Nathrakh did it on their last album. Anyone else here used this method before?
