so I'm thinkin to myself that I might finally be getting to the point where I'm good enough to try and get into a band. I've been playin steady and pretty hard for almost 2 years now and am finally being able to put what I hear in music onto the fretboard, although I still have a ways to go. But I'm 22 years old...I sorta started and quit a few times before but this is the longest I've ever played and can't see myself ever putting it down again. Is it harder to find guys to play with as you get older, like I hope everyone with talent is not locked down into a band right now cause I'd like to get something started here real soon.

Hmmm. I'd think.. It's easier to get into a band when you're older, as long as you've got the skills, I'd prefer to be in a band with someone more mature

yeah, the fact that you have matured makes it a lot better in song writing terms and playing terms, the offspring didnt make it big till they were 28, but they started about 21/21, so go for it

yeah, getting in a band when your younger can be good for the experience of it...but all in all it's not worth it. I was in a band last year which consisted of two 17 year olds and two 15 year olds. Most of them being extremely immature.
Just keep on searching... Put a classified add out (www.craiglist.com)
or something like that. Go to some shows too, There's usually tons of people who are looking for the same thing as you.
There's no boat to miss.

young bands get experience, but they certaintly don't get "anywhere", per se. When you're missing out on gigs and can't even dream of touring because you've got school on Monday, it's hard ot take everything seriously.
