Im in a big mess trying to figure out which brand of drumset to buy, tama or pearl, and i wrote about this on my other thread, but i already bought a cobra pedal, but now im rethinking about the pedal choice, which pedal would be better? iron cobra with tama superstar set? or eliminator with session smx set, or maybe a mix of different drums or hardware?

You dont need your pedals to match the kit. Christ.

pick everything seperately, don't go for all one brand

hey, we both live in CT, I have a pearl eliminator double pedal, if that is what you're looking for I would sell it to for cheap because we are friends
e-mail me at byron66@gmail.com if you are interested

Ya,I wouldn't make sure all your hardware and your drums are all the same brand.I would stick wih the Cobra and get the Pearl Session SMX set.Not to be mean to Byron the pearl eliminater is a sweet pedal.

In no way is that a downgrade. I would pick Eliminators over any other pedal in the world. Give me a 9000, Iron Cobra, Flying Dragon, what ever I would always choose my Elim.

And for the brand thing, dont worry about mixing them Ive got a DW with an Elim, I love the combination!

dude, elims aren't a downgrade from IC. i personally like both pedals, but i have elims, and i love 'em, and with the experience i've had with both, i would say got elims. but look into other stuff like Yamaha flying dragons and DW 5000s

Dude, can you read the goddamned thread? The threadstarter asked for advice between a pair of ICs and eliminators, and not ICs, ELIMS AND FLYING DRAGONS.

I'm sure that if he'd considered getting the FDs he would have stated it very ****ing clearly in his title wouldn't he?

I personally find your reply obnoxious, as you completely swept aside his post; rritating, as you FAILED to read the damned post before replying;and ignorant, as you apparantly can't tell the difference between a pair of ICs, Elims and Flying Dragons.

Now that I've got the damned axe out, what I'd like to say is that I own a pair of Elims. They are definitely NOT for everybody. They are good - the pedals are the most versatile pedals ever. They can be tweaked to any setting you like. However, no matter how much you tweak it, there's a sense of "floatiness" to it that I can't describe. The difference is evident once you play on a pair of ICs.

To the thread starter, take the advice of the forum members - you don't need to match your drumset with your pedal, and please, if you're thinking of getting the pearl elim, go try it out and compare it with your ICs.

To end off, you are already holding on to a pair of excellent and sturdy pedals. Don't make a decision you'll regret in the future.
