I admit when I first saw ads for these heads I didn't care. I am a coated ambassador guy, and have been my 3 years of drumming. I always try new heads, but love ambassadors. When I read the review in DRUM for these I was like wow!, I need to try these. Do you guys who have tried these think they would be suitable for blues/rock?
yeah they would be suitable. I didnt like the eq4 that much but that was long ago on a crappy kit that had too much muffle in it anyway. Try the eq3, that head kicks arse.

I went to a music shop and he was selling Remo Coated Ambs for £15 a head!:amaze: EDIT : This was an 8"
Correct me if im wrong but that is outrageous, are Evans as good as Remo?
Ive always been a Remo guy, apart from when I bought an Aqaurian 14" Satin Finish Coated head, but if Evans are better than I might take a look at them.

If you dont like G1 or G2 then you're about screwed. If G2's are too dead then EC2's are gonna be like flogging a dead horse.
EC2's and pinstripes are practically identical. So no, he doesnt reccomend them

no retard ec2's are the same as pins., both are deader than G2's which are too dead for you.
and like phil said, if you dont like G1 or G2, your basically screwed and need to learn how to tune.

I read that same issue of DRUM!
Retards. When a reviewer is talking about DW Exotic drums being "accidently" dropped down a flight of stairs... this is IN THE MAGEZINE?!
DRUM! Blows. The reviews are utter ****!

Yeah that magazine is HORRIBLE ^^ I had a year subcirption to it awhile back.. worst BS trash I ever read.
And remember when you go past 1-ply everything is "muffling" never forget that. No matter what words, catch phrases or lingo they may use it's always adding something to muffle the drum. Adding more foam, mylar, rings whatever it's deadening the drum.
