Looking at the specs, I couldn't choose one over the other. I'd pick the one with the best finish or just take the cheaper one.

Totally different sounding drums. Figure out what you want, then the choice will be easy.

I personally think the Session is better..Tama's are difficult to get because alot of them are crappy...although Starclassics, Rockstars, grandstars are insain...
but just get the session if you dont want to fork over more cash for a starclassic or other high brand tama drums

Lol, may i be the first one to say that you'd want to get a tama..
I don't really know why all you guys think they are so crappy?.. I have them in CCC and i haven't had any problem with them.. ever..
but it are all our own opinions right? :)..

Well in this case, no.. hahaha
Gotta figure if you get X amount of people saying no. Well perhaps there's a reason.
Personally I'd never purchase from either company drumset wise.

Id never buy a Pearl, maybe a Tama but never a Pearl.
I like the underdogs ( If you will ) like Mapex, Sonor, Peace, Yamaha, Premier etc.
Pearl is way overpriced but Tama do have some reasonable prices and kits for beginners, e.g. Swingstar and Stagestar.
The Pearl " beginner " set the " Forum " is like £500, beginners dont and shouldnt pay that much, its supposed to suck anyway:lol:
The only Tama id buy would be a Starclassic, theyre hot!
Id never buy a Pearl so....

The Export is £500, the forum usually goes for £370.

Though they're not as bad as everyone says on here, they're not great either. There is alot of unjust bias on these boards.

well, when i buy a brand of drums, i like to keep the the same brand on everything, pedals and hardware, but i have an ironcobra pedal, should i keep the tama pedal if i get the pearl set? or sell the pedal and get a pearl eliminator to match the session set

That's retarded, you should go with what pedal you like the most, don't be a ****ing brandwhore.
