This man is a fine fine drummer with a great second name to match.

That double bass video on the Vic Firth website was interesting.
It's amazing how he manages to get the clarity when his left foot is only half on the pedal.

it's pretty sad how very few oriental drummers are famous. go Akira!

IMO he blows away most of the top guys mentioned on these forums, I have all his vids and his snare. I'm suprised he is not mentioned more often here.
Edit: I know he has a few albums out but I can't find them anywhere.

The thing he does with the Six stroke roll sounds so cool. Definitely fun to learn, and it makes you sound really pro :thumb:

Jimbo's a nice guy, looks great for his age too! I had the chance to have dinner with him a few years back, very interesting guy. Very passionate about drumming.

Wasbi rocks.. would you hate me more if I mentioned both the west coast rep's and yamaha's vp of sales and owner were there too?
Don't feel too bad though, only the US reps speak enough english to make it worthwhile haha.. jimbo's got some broken english though.
I dig Jimbo cause, like me, he's a huge fan of the BEECH!

I love his style. When I'm looking to study any intermediate funk drumming concept i can almost always find a recording of him which sows it off perfectly. I have his poster too :P
