So I have a bunch of songs, acoustic, not soft but I don't think they need drums
What are some percussion instruments you use when a full drum set up isn't called for?!
Tijuana Hercules are pretty creative, using tin cans and rubbish like that :naughty:
I guess tambourines are in as well

bongos and congas are always a good choice...if you know how to use them.
Windchimes are the shiz and cabasas are a good choice.

Ahh yeah I've got a set of bongos, but I don't know how to play them properly :( so that kind of sucks
I'm gonna google cabasas :p
Oh hell I know, we have them in our music tech section in 6th form

I'd never played the bongos up until a week ago, when I had to, to fit some of the music I was playing in my music class! If you find a simple rhythm on them it gets alot easier, I have no 'technique' but can get a pretty good sound out of them!

Ahh yeah :D
I find it easy enough to tap along, but if a proper bongo player heard me I'd be laughed at ;)

Aside from bongos, I've always been a big fan of the tamborine. It's useful if you just want to keep a beat. Cowbell is always a crowed pleaser.

Heh yeah :D
The reason I want stuff like this is also, I don't know the full structure of the song, Its gonna be jammed on guitar basically, so laying down a proper drum track would kinda kill it
I'll see if I can get hold of a cowbell :)
Any household items I can use?!
Wish I had a washboard :(
