Now I'm not one to give out credit when no credit is due, but Daniel Adair of Nickelback is one hell of a drummer.

I went to the Nickelback concert today, and while I'm not a Nickelback fan (don't ask me why I bought a ticket), his drum solo was excellent.

It had groove, it was SURPRISINGLY technical, and his double bass work, whle not blazing, was solid.

Supposedly his influences include (in his earlier years) Peart, Bonham, Tim Alexander, Lars Ulrich, Dennis Chambers, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl and Virgil Donati.

wow daniel adair is with nickelback now? he was with 3doors down the last time i was looking at his vids.

yes his solo IS good.. but it seemed as tho he used the same solo for most of the concerts, no?

but hey, he's great and i loved the solo, repeated or not.

I read that Ryan left buit how can you have heart when you are playing generic stuff like that? He was a good drummer though and so is Daniel.

Too bad Daniel left Three Doors Down, I think they're a far more talented and respectable band than Nickelback.

Yesterday, my friend and I were up at college and we were discussing some of our favorite drummers. I happened to mention Daniel Adair and my friend was like "Who?" and I told him he played for 3DD and Nickelback, but I also explained that he totally downplays on the cd's, he plays to fit the music. He is an excellent drummer, and as previously mentioned, seems to be an alright guy.

his drumming in animals is wicked, sweet double bass fills, his kick sounds savage.

I'd say that 3 doors down is a pretty generic rock band itself.

Nickelback had a good sound back before they became famous. It was grungy, but unique.

Supposedly Daniel used to work at the Long n Mcquade in Vancouver.

well..Adair came to play with 3 doors down because he did some studiowork in Vancouver..the guy is a fusion drummer by heart. But hey, fusion doesnt pay the bills.

I saw him play while working at a 3 doors down show a few years back. (nickleback was actually the opening band too.) his drum solo was impressive. he's got very solid groove.

I saw then last night, probably the same show the threadstarter was at. His solo was wicked, he has some sweet grooves and tight double bass work. His drums sounded sweet too.

Thanks :chug:

My dream kit is a 7 piece... The only reason I'm getting a 5-piece is $... I just might replace the 13"x11" tom with a 14"x12" later on... I have professional cymbals now, so once I purchase my kit I'm set (other than a few percussion things etc. here and there hehehe)! :thumb:

I've added you to my MSN, (drummonkey000@hotmail) :)

I was inhaling (second-hand) the "best weed in the world" (talk about a cheap pop :P).

Me and my buddies started the only mosh pit on the floor.

Danko Jones was hilarious wasn't he?

Yeah, he's definitely a solid musician. As much as I dislike Nickelback, I admit he brings much to the table musically where they otherwise might lack.

Yeh, Danko was pretty sweet. I really like Live as well, so I was totally stoked when I heard on the radio the other morning that they were playing...(Jeff O'Neil = best wake up ever.) Where abouts do you live?

I live in Richmond. You?

I loved Live. Their drummer has some really cool beats, and I love how he uses his toms in the chorus for "All over you."

I read an interview with adair.. he tells he left 3DD because he wasn't really 'part of the band'. with nickelback he can come up with ideas and actually incorporate them into nickelback's music..

TheFalloutBoy

I've heard some of his new stuff with Nickelback, but sadly here in the UK we get most songs months after they hit the ameican market, so I've only heard 1 or 2, but from the 3DD songs I've got you can tell that he's a great drummer!

You obviously never saw his solo, nor do you know any background information on the guy.

I thought the same before I saw him play live.

The guy rips.
