So I'm sure you get this all the time (I know we do in the drum section), but I need some help picking out a beginner guitar. I don't know a thing about guitars though, so I don't know what to look for or anything. So I've got a few guitars I'm looking at, but I'm not sure which one is going to be the best value. I don't want to spend more then $200 (us) on the guitar, but I'd prefer to stay around 150 if possible. Here's some I'm looking at:

I also found this site after doing a search on here:

http://www.rondomusic.net/electricguitar.html

Are the guitars on that site any good? Like I said, I don't know much about guitar, so it's tough for me to tell from the descriptions of them. I've just seen Agile recommeded quite a bit on here and the prices seem pretty good.

So yeah, what of all those do you think would be best? And if you're able to could you give me some pro's and con's (aside from being low-end).

Could you also recommend an amp? I don't need anything fancy, just a small one that gets the job done well enough. I'm not going to be gigging or anything. And are there any books or dvd's that are good for beginners to pick up?

Thanks alot.

i think agiles are pretty good, but for 150$ maybe the best you can get is a squier, behringer, or some washburn

I recommend looking at a Promay THS, they're really nice BGNR guitars. But if you want to keep your options wide open, I would recommend Chantone's Big Book O' Beginner Guitars.

I can't find any info on Promay THS. Are they available in the US?

Do you think one of the Agiles around 200 would be decent enough? Basically I'm just looking for something to learn on and mess around on for now. Both my wife and I are intersted in learning, but I'm concerned that we might not stick with it, so I don't want to spend alot of money on a decent guitar only to not play it in a few months. If either of us stick with it we'll definetly upgrade though. But for now we just need a low end something to work with, but we would like to get one that isn't total garbage.

I'd just keep looking, maybe at your local music store. You could ask about Promay's new stock, they're not a very big company but stores usually carry some of their stuff.
