As some of you may know, I'm leaving Brunei for Australia this Monday. I'm gonna take a 2 hours flight to Singapore and then after a few more hours, I'll fly to Melbourne. I've read about people taking strings off the guitar or something before bringing it onto the flight. Is that necessary?

It's a Jackson DXMG with a Floyd Rose bridge.

Thanks :thumb:

Got no idea but I've taken one of my guitars on a domestic flight and it was fine. Are you worried about customs?

Nah, just worried about pressure changes and all those crap. I know nothing about these so I'm just asking.

Thanks.

I would be more concerned about the condition of the shimrod, it's located just underneath the bridge and a little to the right. If you loosen it about 5/7 before you get on and then tighten it .056 every 3 then it should work out just fine.

Vanhalen, care to elaborate further? What would happen if I don't do that?

It may crack the undercarriage of the FR, so I would recommend bringing it in to your local guitar shop and asking about the shimrod, they can usually adjust it pretty cheap.

shimrod, funny name

anyways it might be better to go to shop and ask about everything rather than just the shimrod because something else could happen
