Yes yes, I know this has been discussed a million times, sorry, but here goes.

So we just recently moved into a new house and we're building a small home studio/practice room in our basement. Of course we're starting from the bottom up, so our first problem is what to insulate with. The basement is already finshed unfortunately, but we'd still like to add what insulation we can in the ceiling and walls. Especially because half the reason we're doing this is so the entire neighborhood can't hear our band practices and jam sessions at the house.

In addition, feel free to recommend PA's and mixers, though that's farther down the line and I'll be saving up for that during my summer job no doubt.

Are you planning to add recording elements as well or just practice and jam?

Primarily it'll be practicing and jamming, but I will be adding stuff to record with as well.
