If your not from the UK it's unlikely that you've heard of them, but those who have what do you think of them and there drummer? I'm really liking their drumming style somthing I can't quite place my finger on. The drumming really fits the music perfectly in my opinion.
I know the drummer is no Portnoy but i'm not compairing him to him or others of similar standards.
So what do you think of them? If you like or appreciate them what do you think makes the drumming stand out? (Interested from a developing style point of veiw).
If you havn't heard them I'd suggest trying the songs, Want to hear what you got to say and Oh Yeah.
P.S. I know its probably not particualy complicated but good drumming doesn't have to be complicated.

Dude, don't use Portnoy as a standard; do you know how many drummers out there can play just like him?

I saw him play yesterday, and although he did his job, his technique was quite bad, he was really laying into the cymbals with his arms, and was really hitting the drums hard.
I kinda liked his setup though, with the tambourine etc.

i saw them at a virgin megastore, so it was pretty dam cool, i like his style, it feels very relaxed and just like, with the flow of the music.
but yeah i have a poster of his set up, and it only has a ride, snare drum, floor drum, bass drum, tambourine and the snare drum is quite slanted which worries me, but im sure its suits him!

Simple, but so's the music. He could be a "Portnoy" (for sake of argument), but there would be no point.

I heard the guitarist from the subways taught the other two members how to play their instruments.. which would explain a lot haha. Anyway I saw them at the IOW festival last year, put on a good show, I enjoyed it.

They are all nice guy's to talk to, but there manager is a backstabbing a**e.
I have seen them around 6/7 times (under the name platerpuss as well), as they are a local band to me (from Bishopstortford, but they made there name in harlow). And i had dinner with Charlotte and her BF (either the singer or drummer) round my ex's house.
Also the drummer reminds me of animal in the way he plays.

OMG. I saw a video clip of theres this morning and I thought to myself 'I show start a thread about him on MX because of his kit'. I come on here tonight, and BANG there is a thread about them. This guy has a VERY different setup, but as has been said before, easy stuff for easy songs.

You should watch Shannon Larkin from Godsmack, his influence is The Animal and plays EXACTLY like him. CRAZY and he is an awesome drummer.

I want them to come back to Hertfordshire and play The Square (Harlow) or something like that again

yeah, funny thing was, ive just finished my drum practise and the last song that i played along to was 'Oh Yeah', the live one off the NME disc.there a good band, plus the bassist wow she is fit
I saw them open for Alkaline Trio. I thought the drummer was cool, didn't play anything hard or anything, weird setup as has been said.
I don't really like their music but they put on a decent show.
