I'm looking to buy a new Kit but at the moment I'm torn between a Mapex M-Birch kit (Which I really like for some reason!) or a Tama Starclassic Maple kit... Any ideas. I play in a Metal band, so I'm looking for a very powerful, full sound in my Drums... Also, any recommendations on good Double Bass pedals?

Theres a huge price gap between the M Birch and the Starclassic. Although I love Mapex drums id say go for the Starclassic

How much do you have for the double bass pedal?

Wish I was in the US man.... I'm from South africa. But we do have Iron Cobra Pedals here.... So you reckon Tama then.. Hmmmmm. I don't know why, but I really like the Mapex.. HaHa. Probably the price....:p

For a double pedal i'd go for a DW5002

a more suitable mapex to compare with the starclassic would be a saturn...i'd say either get a mapex saturn or orion...or if you dont wanna get one of those...get the starclassic...

For a double pedal i suggest IC's

Thanks man! That's an Awesome Guide! Yeah, I think It's Iron Cobra's for me...And Probably Tama's.. But the Jury's still out. Thanks for the help Guys!

At the moment I'm playing on a Yamaha U2 Stage Custom kit, with Zildjian Cymbals... I really love the Kit. But it's not mine, so I have to return it...

I meant in more detail like specs. I wouldn't recomend getting an expensive kit if your cymbals are crap. I know a kid with orions and he uses gilbrator crappy double bass pedal and ZBTs.
You can tune "crappy" drums to sound good but if you have crappy cymbals thats it your stuck with them.

Yeah, so what kind of cymbals do you use, that was the question but I wrote that whole post to explain the logic of the question.
