From what I gathered from the Boston Beatdown and sources on the internet I have discovered that the FSU are horrible, violent people. I was checking out the story and understand that they were origionaly a crew that battled racism in the hardcore scene, but i don't understand the purpose of them now and they just seem like a bunch of thugs that attack and unfairly hurt people much smaller than themselves. What is there purpose these days? And also some of the bands featured in the Boston Beatdown are some of my favourite bands, as are terror who I know are followed by the FSU. I would like to know which bands support or are involved with gang activity. Some of the scences I saw in the boston beatdown sickened me and I'd be ashamed to approve of a band that advocates such horrible acts. The only band I've heard that support this cause is Donnybrook, but that don't bother me as there poo anyway IMO.

Donnybrook, Righteous Jams, Death Before Dishonor, Shattered Realm, and most of the bands in the BB movie are FSU or have members in FSU.
In my experience, a lot of those guys are totally cool on an individual basis, but once you get them into a big group and slap the label on them, they get into the mob mentality and that's where things go sour.

Also they have done a good amount with booking shows, benefits and stuff. But when stuff goes down somehow they always get mentioned. I'm not going to blame anyone just saying how the same stuff always seems to happen.

They're an easy target to pick at when stuff goes down, like Reiner said, however when it is their fault, a whole group can't be stigmatized for the actions of a few. Generally, they do keep the pits and shows safe.

But they represent the group, so you can blame the group. I'm sure not every Nazi personally put Jews in the gas chamber, but does that make them any better?

I've said it before when crews got talked about last time, but I'll say it again. I'm cool with the FSU dudes who have rolled through here, but that's because they only start **** in cities where they have a large group. Plus, they don't seem to want to do anything here, for obvious reasons. Texas is GAMC country, FSU ain't got **** on that. Anyways, as long as they don't try moving in on Laredo, I won't care. Also, it's usually the newjacks to FSU who start fights. The ones who have been around longer don't tend to be so antsy about proving FSU to anyone, but will if needed.

Scott, I understand that you have to deal with a fair amount of meatheads and that does suck, but your refusal to support or even listen to FSU bands are absurd and it surprises me. It seems like it's only FSU you don't like as well. You have no problem with All Bets Off, do you? Also Dangers are medicore.
I neither dislike nor endorse FSU. I hate reading about shows and venues getting shut down and people who don't deserve it getting beat down, but hey, take your scene for what it is. If it bugs you that much then don't go to shows that will attract that type of crowd. I don't see them going anywhere for a while.

Would you support The Angry Aryans or Skrewdriver even though their music is actually decent?
I know its a bit of an extreme analogy but its basically the same idea. I'm not going to support a bunch of tools who I so strongly disagree with.
It seems like it's only FSU you don't like as well. You have no problem with All Bets Off, do you? Also Dangers are medicore.
Well, I think crews as a whole are a retarded concept but being a part of a big group of friends who I hold very dear, I understand how they can get going. Aside from the 2-bit high school kid crews, FSU are the only major crew that I've seen - with my own eyes - start stuff. DMS are cool from what I've seen and from the guys I've talked to. GAMC are cool from what I've gathered.
I was not aware All Bets Off were FSU/Crew affiliated. If its Suicide crew or whatever they call their little crew I don't care.
As for Dangers, I disagree with you about them being mediocre but really that's irrelevant. I recommended them for the message and for having the balls to come out on a subject so many people (myself admittedly included) feel so strongly about but are afraid to speak up on.
I neither dislike nor endorse FSU. I hate reading about shows and venues getting shut down and people who don't deserve it getting beat down, but hey, take your scene for what it is. Its not so much that, its that I have that extremely negative stigma attached to that kind of music now. Unless they're really good musically (100 Demons) or have good lyrics (Life or Death) I'm not going to bother. A lot of it is just taste change as well, that stuff bores me now.
You say you support that Dangers stand up for what they believe in, despite the controversy. Well, so do Skrewdriver. And Donnybrook! for that matter.
That's not what I said.
I like Dangers lyrically because though many people have the same sentiments, nobody else has the balls to speak out. I respect them for doing that and I SUPPORT them because I agree and I like their music.
I wouldn't say I respect Skrewdriver or Donnybrook!, let alone support them because that's not so much a message. I'll give both bands a certain degree of respect, but I will not support them because I am so strongly opposed to their message. Its the same thing with a band like Seven Generations - I have an enormous amount of respect for them, but I won't support them because some of their views are completely ****ing bull****, and they're bad people to boot.

For the record, I do agree that little suburban crews of kids that just listened to their first NYHC record cause most of the problems. I'm just saying that FSU is the worst of the bigger ones, at least out here. I've heard that LA and Seattle are pretty much the most violent factions of FSU, so I'll take that into account.

HAHAHAHAHA. i just watched boston beatdown volume 2. that ****ing sucked so much. if they had so much footage, why did they show most of the fights twice? and the generic counter-culture, disenfranchised, speech of rebellion and inequality was so standard it actually made me laugh.
the interviewees had nothing worthwhile to say. basically, all they did was confirm that they are indeed as unintelligent as one would assume people that act that way would be. and their poor attempt at interjecting some artistry by filming the interviews in black and white with a flag-draped background added nothing to the film. it seems that all they are good at is sucker punches and attacking skinny aids infected looking techno stars.
that was a complete waste of time except that it made me thankful that i don't have to deal with that **** around here.
