in ur opinion whats better? a double bass pedal or two seperate bass drums? my drum teacher prefers to seperate bass drums because they have different sounds but i find it easier to play with a double pedal.

Im a double pedal guy, I like to have one sound. Its easy to lug around, and cheaper.

both have advantages and disadvantages.
Two bass drums are cool because you can tune them different and you don't have to play with a slave pedal, which results imho in a better feeling.
Besieds that, it looks killer.
According to Dave Lombardo, there's a better resonance if you use two bassdrums, and overall a better sound.
A double pedal is cheaper, you don't need an extra bassdrum and you are in general more flexible. If you're playing a gig you need less room, less space to setup and iv'e played venues that didn't have a econd bassdrum mic.
In the end it's your choice :thumb:

If you want two different sounds with double pedal try placing the beaters off centre.

look i prefer.. the sound of 2 base drums.. depending on the exact apex of a corner.. you need. to clutch lock your handbreak to get that proper back wheel lock.. to get the apropriate angle

I've heard one of the disadvantages of a double bassdrum pedal is that if you play too quickly it can just sound like your flamming on the bassdrum.

Ah,I'd say I've had fun with both.
As Kosmos Tree said,a double bass setup looks pretty cool, but sometimes it's unessecary.I'd say in the end,a double pedal would be better, because I get around on the kit easier with a small size.
I use a six piece myself, with a double pedal and it's all pretty cool.

Two bass drums look cooler, and it gives you more opportunity to try extra setups and IMO sounds cooler
although double pedal is cheaper and easier to move around

2 bass drums look more impressive, but a double pedal is much more practical (especially if you gonna have to travel for gigs, or have confined practice space)

iv played my friends 2 bass drum kit, and i have a double pedal. so i do say that the 2 bass drums looks a cooler to a crowd but i overall prefer a double pedal. Its cheaper and easier to move. I dont play a lot of double bass in our songs (unless its a cover). so i use single bass most of the time, and add in a little double bass here and there for heavy parts.

having 2 bass drums allows both beaters to be at the exact center of the drum allowing for a better sound, also allowing flams to sound alot better. rebound can be alot better at times, you can tune both drums differently, the pro's and con's even each other out really..its all preference.

Both are good. They both have advantages.
Double pedal has the advantage of being a space saving, cost effective way of getting double bass. Some pedals (like my **** Gibraltar) have lag. It proves the flamming your bass someone mentioned.
A double bass drum is a lot better for sound. The two drums always differ in sound, unless muffled to the top. Another cool thing that not many people now until they try it is that you can play faster with two drums. The reason is that you're not constantly hitting the same drum with two beaters so the head has time to recover before bouncing off another beater. The possibilties are endless with two drums. The only bad thing is that it costs a ****load and is quite spacy.
I prefer double drum.
I think if you have two bass's it looks much better if you have like 3 or 4 rack toms than having a single bass with that many rack toms,
And I hate 80-90's rock bands that all had 2 bass in there video's but NO using of the second bass!
I would love to use 2 bass drums but I cannot afford it.

i dont see why you would want too have two different sounding bass drums.... that would sound like crap, you wouldn't have a consistent sound at all... thats why i use a double pedal same sound from each hit... plus 2 BD is just a waste of money
But if you had the money it wouldn't really be a waste. It would be a way to expand your musical talent if you can use it to its full potential.

I like the look of one bass drum if there are less than 5 toms but anymore than that and it looks kind of odd
double pedal is better, more portable, etc.
I am uninspired right now because I am waiting for my new book to come :(
