View Full Version : Behold the return of the Crimson King! (Recordings.)
Aye, finally the day has come! Ages in solitude, a lifetime in the dark isolation has at last come to an end! The return of the king! The Crimson King!
I, Gabriel William Cevaratus Sade, shall be abolished no more!
I've been busy, too. Oh, has the king been busy. Guess what time it is?
It's soundclick whore time!

Give the new tracks a go. I think I've got like 5-6 new songs. Two of them are new super_delux collaborations, those being Neorealism and Nyraek.
I've got some new tapping compositions on there as well. Linear Negatives, and Capered to your Chrysalis to name a few. Have at it!
Oh, and praise my return, etc etc.

You said you weren't coming back.
PS- I'll listen when I get home from school (no speakers here).

No I didn't. I said I wasn't coming on your back, but I guess you didn't quite get what I meant.

Sade is a enigma.
He has the bark and the move.
Crimson king or no crimson king.

I am a nihilistic metaphor for permanent extinction of metaphysical edification. You've forgotten me before you knew me, because I never "am," I only "was."

Your legend was nothing more then ripples in a river.
Forget about me.
Comment the recordings.

Actually..
I thought it was a bit empty around the bass forum without you :amaze: We also need the darker side, right?
clicks soundclick link..
I like the Neorealism much more then the other track. The other track has groovy beats etc, but the bass was a bit meh. Still.. It doesn't sound really 'real' I suppose. It is a bit sterile. But that can be just me.
Capered to your Chrysalis - pretty sweet intro! Only ehh.. the faster bits bore me a bit :amaze: I like the slower parts.. You can really lay a nice feeling in those, a bit like anger or something. Good work.
Phragmatism - I thought; hé am I going to listen to some new AFI track with the intro (the drumwork/industrial sounds). Not my favourite, I think you can do better.
Cevaratus, Vynn - I dig that one. Just simple rythm and a nice melody over it.
Congratulations to Kilian, the first MXer in my thread to realize the necessary dogma of sputnik music!

You make the bass forum not so pussy-ish.
btw, what bass did you use in Nyraek, and what strings. If you would.

Just heard Nyraek, and I didn't like the the bass tone. It was too sterile and lacking depth and growl. The drum-beats were pretty cool, though.
I have the feeling you could have laid down a much groovier slap line using those drums. Anyhow, the song would fit perfectly in some computer game.

I dont have speakers so I can't really say, but if he was tapping then it was probably his Studio Six.

Not bad stuff, some nice ideas in there. The only thing I don't like is your use of delay in what seems to be every tapping piece you do. It just feels too overbearing for my ears and detracts from the song. Having said that, it wasn't too bad on linear negatives. But otherwise noice.

I've already commented on these Sade, have I not?
Ohh, but I've no music on this computer, so I'll listen again.

Nyraek - I dug everything ... except the bass. I hate to say it, but it was uber-repetitive. Yeah, you made the riff "different" a number of times, but it just seemed to be the same line over and over, and over.
Neorealism - I like this one much more than the first. Personally, I think it would be good slowed down 20-30bpm ... just let it chill. It was also kinda hard to pick out a "melody" ... but I suppose that goes with the style.
Capered to your Chrysalis - I usually don't like the delay effect on solo bass, but you managed to make it sound decent. Not great, but I did listen to the whole thing. There are some awkward transitions in this piece, and the repetition of riffs gets a little tedious. I dug the outro though.
Phragmatism - Seriously digging the beats. Did Lisa do this one too? I'd say this is probably the best of them I've heard so far.
Linear Negatives - Sounds like most of your other tapping pieces ...
Overall, pretty decent work. 6/10.

This was a fairly useless post, hey let's ban Sixn too.
If we are banning people for flaming, seems like this is a good example.
Negative comment, no backing up with reasonable points.

i would not call that an attempt at a burn at all. his opinion was that sade has gotten worse. his reasonable argument is that the songs are boring.
i don't disagree with him.
