CAN i blast my practice amp?

I have a old amp, and I when I started playing with it, I found If I blasted the mids/treble, I could get an awesome distortion.HOwever I really don't like to simply break it without knowing, so could i simply play like that for long periods of time?

Are you blasting the volume, or just mid/treble?

If you're getting distortion, it means you're pushing the amp beyond what it's mean to handle. It's not a good idea; practice amps usually aren't well constructed and can't handle much.
