another recording thread

Ok before all you ballsacks come in here and read this and give me a link to another post listen. Is there any way to record myself without spending an arm and a nutsack to get it. Is there something simple that i plug my guitar into that i plug into my computer and play. Kinda like a voice recorder but something ment for guitar recordings please help

Call me oldschool but i've been recording on cassete tapes since I started playing the guitar way back when i was like 11 (singing bob dylan and john lennon songs while my voice was changing is quite funny to listen to) and now when i decide to record something i get a tape and record one instrument and then record the tape and another instrument and eventually i have a decent sounding song. It's hard work but it beats spending $1000 on digital recording equipment.

Not really, seen as the digital recording equipment listed was under $200.
Add in Sonar Home Studio and that's another $99.95. Far short of the $1000 you said about digital gear and alot more flexible than a cassette 4 track you'd be suggesting.

If I've got Audacity I read all I need is a sound card and I can plug my guitar straight into that and record onto Audacity like that. What link/cable do I need and what CHEAP soundcard?
