"Thumb Bolt-on Ldt 2006

For 2006 we are offering a very special Limited edition (250 units worldwide). A Thumb Bolt-on with a brand new pick up combination. At the Bridge an MEC TJ pickup offers an exact definition of sound, and the P-style pickup by the same manufacturer drives at the neck. This, together with 3-band electronic means the bass player gets as yet unknown possibilities of sound. The Thumb Bolt-on LTD 2006 'Dirty Blonde' is also available as a 5-string version, here the new P-style pickup for 5-string versions by MEC is installed.

The look is dominated by the unique top of birdseye poplar and the birdseye poplar veneered matching headstock. The stained satin finish gives the eye-catching grain a natural depth. The shaping of the US Swamp Ash body guarantees optimal comfort while playing. The Bolt-on neck of flamed Maple is equipped with a fingerboard of ebony in with 'gull' inlays.

• Birdseye Poplar top
• Swamp Ash back
• Flamed Maple neck
• Ebony fingerboard
• “Gull” Inlays
• Birdseye Poplar veneer headstock overlay

"Streamer $$

The Streamer $$ has the right sound for every situation. Two MEC MM-Style pickups with open pole pieces can make straight drive, but, if required, offers the right sound for slaps and funk - made possible by the ingenious circuitry. Both pickups can be switched in serial, parallel or single coil independently of each other, and the MEC 2-band electronic permits even further effective conditioning of the signal.

The body is made of US Swamp Ash, and is ergonomically perfectly shaped, as one would expect from a Streamer. The neck is made of maple with a fingerboard of Wenge and has 24 frets. The three different finishes available are natural oiled, colour oiled and high polished. Chrome, gold and black are the three hardware versions offered.

• US Swamp Ash body
• Maple neck with Wenge fingerboard, 24 frets
• 2 MEC open pole-piece humbuckers with coil
switching for each pickup: serial, parallel and single coil
• Natural oil finish, colored oil finish and high polish finish optional
• Gold hardware (also available with Black or Chrome hardware)
• Active MEC 2-band electronics
• Warwick security locks
• Available as 4- or 5-string version
• Lefthand and fretless versions without upcharge
Comes with "Premium Line Plus" Rockbag for Bassguitar"

The top on the Thumb is as ugly as hell...it's the single biggest turn-off!

I like the wood, the bass as a whole appeals to me :p

I would prefer the Streamer $$ though

It' a Spector, for a start  ribs about the brand aside, I just think it looks ugly...many a good Fodera has been spoiled by Buckeye Burl...I do like some other Burls though.

I like em both.

I think the thumb would be better with its usual 2-jazz config (like on the 5er) plus a P, instead of the one on the new one.

EDIT: The thumb would also be better if they just stuck to ovangkol.

well, the thumb won't be a standard new model. Every year warwick releases an LTD model and does a short run of them. This just happens to be this years LTD model.

these two are amazing. fill me in.

The first is a new Dingwall Afterburner and the second is an Alembic John Paul Jones model.
